Tour of the Starlight Unit

A hospital is no place for a sick child. While a child needs the technology and medical expertise available at a hospital when they are critically ill, they shouldn't feel like they are in a "hospital". That is why we established the Starlight Unit at Comanche County Memorial Hospital as the goal for the first project of the Children's Starlight Fund. Designed to provide all of the advanced medical care of a hospital setting in the comfort and security of a family-centered and child-friendly environment, the Starlight Unit provides the best of both worlds. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we are pleased that the Starlight Unit became a reality in January, 2009. Featuring a homelike environment, patient rooms are furnished with comfortable surroundings to encourage family interaction.
